Happy anniversary James!
I can't believe that it's already been 6 years since we've gotten together. Thank you so much for being my biggest supporter in everything that I do. We have grown together through both high school and college graduation, and I'm so happy that we met young enough to celebrate all of our major life milestones together. I wouldn't be where I'm at today without you.
Since I had never told our story before on the blog, this one is dedicated to how we got together. We met in 2009 in freshman year English class at Arcadia High School. By the end of the year, I had a crush on him. Looking back, I'm not sure why considering how long his hair was... Just kidding!
During our sophomore year, he decided to ask me to Homecoming almost about a week before the dance. Since he had told one of my friends, she told me. When I mentioned it to my parents, they said that I couldn't go with a boy to the dance.
On the day he was going to ask me, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to say no to him. The whole day, I found myself avoiding him in the hallways. I even bolted to my mom's car after school to make sure I wouldn't run into him. I felt so bad since I saw him with the big bouquet of flowers, which made me even more sure that I would have a hard time saying no. He ended up not going to Homecoming, and we never talked about the situation since.
When my senior year at AHS came around, I ran into him in the hallway on the first day of school. I thought back to that day sophomore year, and had a strong feeling that I should make amends. It felt like the right time since it was my last year in school, and I'd never see him again in college.
That night, I nervously messaged him on Facebook. I explained what happened, and said that I was sorry for running away. He didn't even know I ran away. I was embarrassed, but happy this conversation led to us talking again and hanging out.
He wanted to ask me to Homecoming again, and this time, I said yes! On the night of the dance, he asked me to be his girlfriend. We both went into the relationship thinking that it would end after graduation when we went to college.
Six years later, here we are today! Here are some highlights from the 6 wonderful years together :)
