James and I took a road trip up north to San Simeon over winter break, and I'm finally getting around to blogging our adventure! If you are planning to go up north, this is what we did on our trip.
Day 1: We took the coastal route from Los Angeles to San Simeon, so we got there by nightfall. I highly recommend going up the PCH because the views are incredible!
Day 2: The last time we visited San Simeon, we already checked out Hearst Castle, so this time we wanted to explore the hiking sites around the area. We started the day off by taking some shots right outside our Sands by the Sea hotel. The next stop was where we spent the rest of the day: the Hearst San Simeon State Park. It was a beautiful beachy location with tall trees surrounding it. The only thing you need to watch out for while visiting is the cow poop since it is also a cow ranch! I would highly recommend checking it out, but just not diving too deep into the tree trail in order to keep your shoes clean. Here are my shots!
Some other spots around the area included the Elephant Seal Beach, and returning back to the hotel for sunset (the cover photo of this blog)!
Day 3: This is when we continued to make our way up the coast to Monterey. On the way, be sure to stop by Bixby Bridge in Big Sur! We mainly visited Monterey for the Monterey Bay Aquarium, but found that Lover's Point was a beautiful spot to check out after. If you visit in the winter like we did, be sure to dress warmly!
My favorite thing at the aquarium were the jellyfish!
I will conclude with this last shot at Lover's Point ;) Thank you for reading! Happy blog Tuesday :)
Special thank you to James for taking so many shots with me!
